receipt of your despatch No.151 of the 25th.ultimo respecting the engagement of an Overseer of Buildings, and of a special Engineer and Overseer for the proposed new storage reservoirs in the Tytam Valley, and to inform you that I have telegraphed

that at the present time it is absolutely impossible to exercise adequate supervision over the large number of

buildings that are being erected, and that as special quali- fications are requisite for the work of supervision the salary recommended by Sir H.A. Blake is not more than adequate
